The Brussels Chamber Orchestra, a talented group of eleven young virtuoso musicians from six different countries is coming to Raleigh on July 5th and will play a second concert on July 6th in Cary.
The BCO has played concerts around the world from Central Europe, Japan to Mexico. The concert in Raleigh on July 5th featuring music by Neilsen, Barber, Elgar and Tchaihowsky, will be their premiere concert in the United States. When they leave here they will be on to the Music Festival in the Hamptons in New York, then on to the Festival of Pietrasanta, Italy, back to Brussels for a series of concerts, then to Norway in the fall.
The Brussels Chamber Orchestra is known for their energy and their musical style. What is most unique about this group is that they play without a conductor; therefore they make all the musical decisions themselves, thus “owning” the music when they take the stage.

July 2nd
The National Anthem at the Durham Bulls.
July 3rd
An open rehearsal at the Burning Coal Theatre Company’s new Meymandi Theatre at the Murphy School from 10am-2pm (free and open to the public but you need reservations because seating is limited: 821-3478 for reservations).
July 5th
A concert at AJ Fletcher Opera Theatre at the Progress Energy Center in downtown Raleigh at 8pm. Tickets are $15, students with paying adult are free. Email cjknowles@earthlink.net for reservations, or call: 821-3478.
July 6th
An outdoor family concert at the Page-Walker Arts and History Center Garden in the Town of Cary. Rain location: Cary Town Hall council Chambers. The concert is free and starts at 7:30pm, weather permitting, it’s lawn seating…bring a blanket and a picnic. For more information, call: 469-4061.
